Buzzing sound from fan

Arg! will this SAAB ever stop giving me problems.

Turned on the blowers last night only to find that there is now a buzzing sound like something it hitting the fan.

One thing i did notice was that the noise is much less apparent when its set to the setting immedietly next to the 0.

What can it be guys?

I had a steroe fitted so is it possible they push a wire in the wrong place?

Any ideas?

Could just be a leaf stuck in it, likely if the cabin filters missing...

I think its fair to say that, on most older 900's pre 89
lots of little things begin to give up slightly, and it can get you down.
Don't worry...Once you've replaced odds and sods here and there, you can rest assured that you'll have a long lasting,
reliable, characteristic mode of transport.
The noise on the fans is usual. The bearings in the fan wear and usualy make a funny lttle noise. When the fan is on the quick setting the noise speeds up and can get loud.
Bear with the sound and it'll settle down. Or manipulate the dial back and forth from one setting to the next letting it stay on fast setting for a short time then back to slow and 0. The sometimes shuts it up. But the permanant remedy is to change the bearing or fan. Not a biggy for someone who has experience behind the dash or up under the Knee protector bolster. You can also access that area thru the left hand f/speaker on the dash.
:idea It maybe better to get used to it and ignore it.

I know you wrote this a while back and probalby already fixed it. But if not I'll be glad to tell you what I did to fix my 87 900.
