Hi guys.. I'm currently running on 16" x 7j, with 205/50 tyres. What do you think if I upgrade to a set of 17" x 7j with 215/40?

If you look on the Saabnet Performance forums there are some pictures from a guy whos done just that (post should still be on the first page). Go very nicely with his lowering springs.

Im running 17" 205/40's on mine, you have to be careful of the suspension when running bigger wheels. My wheels do bang on the arch of i hit a rather large bump, other than that they are fine. You need to get the right offset. Very nice to live with though!

yeah would love to see it with bigger rims. Is your rims offset 17x7j or is it 17x7.5j?

I remember reading about 900 Cabrio bump stops here a while back... Should prevent wheel scrubbing with 17-inchers.

Are these different than fixed-head 900 units both front and back?

The 'Cabrio' bumpstop is a common misconception, they arent any different to the 'normal' bumpstop, all Saab did to stop contact on cars with either larger rims ie 16" aero's was to provide a spacer kit comprising of a longer bumpstop bolt and a metal spacer to go inbetween the bumpstop and body mounting area.
I to asked my Saab dealer about 'Cabrio' bumpstops and this is the response i got, also the modification kit is now no longer available! just buy 6 or 7 washers for each side and a longer bolt from your local hardware store.
Pete.

ive seen a couple of saabs with 17s, i dont really like em on the 900s, i find that 900s look best with the 16" spg rims. 9000s is a different story, they look pretty good with 17s.
