Default brake judder

Hi guys,

I need your expert assisstance. Whenever i brake hard from 75mph+ I get a tremendous juddering through the steering wheel, if anyones in the passenger seat they say they can feel it too. it happens from any speed down to about 30mph then it goes away. i've driven a lot of other cars and braked hard, and never had this before. the discs definitely aren't warped. is this a common problem with the crappy single pots up front or are my brakes just especially ****? the juddering is worse the higher the speed. Not confident building at all, rather off putting

Thanks

EDIT: Only happens when braking really hard. not pedal fully down, but pushing the brakes as far as they will go without ABS interfering.

how do you know they def. arent warped? Did you have them turned? Sounds exactly like warped rotors to me.

they are new rotors and pads on all fours ("motorsport" spec on abbott racing site). It happened before and after new discs. have had them checked for warping at three different places including a saab garage when getting a new oil breather pipe, and they are def not. sounds like warped to me as well which is why i am confused. The brakes are bedded in properly as well.
i wondered if just all 9-5 brakes suck? i have a heavy estate car with non aero brakes, so i thought it made sense?

loose carrier bolts perhaps. Check all of your bushings. A bad or loose one may allow your suspension to shudder on heavy braking.

agree on this one. warped rotors sometimes only manifest when heated up (hard braking). ok when cooled down - so they can't tell when they measure run-out.

My mechanic told me my zimmermans were warped and said the only way to get rid of the vibration would be to turn them (but mine cant cause they are crossdrilled). It turned out that the brakepads wore unevenly. They were ceramics and I didnt bed them in properly . Vib showed up maybe 6 months later.

You could get a set of new pads with a bed-in surface (redstuffs do) that grinds the disc a little and mates the pad to the disk evenly. Although if your discs are warped, youll be out a set of pads because I am pretty sure you can only bed in a set of pads once.
