Hello! I used to do some minor repairs on my old VWs, Hondas, etc. Would I be insane for trying to replace the lower control arm on my 1999 9-3? Does EVERYTHING have to be taken apart to get these simple looking straight rods in place?
Thanks for any help/advice you can offer!! |

Nope, just loosen up wher they meet the stanchion arm and undo where the sway bar meets them. Besides the obvios bolts holding them in.
You will probably need the car a good distance off the ground to really get at it. http://photo.platonoff.com/Auto/ http://photo.platonoff.com/Auto/2007...0_Control_Arm/ |

WOW! Thank you!!! The hacksaw scares the hell out of me -- maybe I won't need to use that, since I found a NEW control arm for $70 online?
The pictures are very helpful!!! -David |

The hacksaw is just to replace the stock bushings with the aftermarket polyeurothane ones.
It is just a remove and replace if you aren't upgrading the bushings. What brand for $90? |
