alright guys hopfully someone here has had this experience but when i have my sunroof open and not popped up, i tried to slide it forward to close it, once it gets about 3/4's of the way it stops and slides back as if something is blocking it. This is starting to happen all the time and i always check and theres nothing blocking the track to make it stop. After i fiddle with it back and forth eventually when I restart the car it will close. Any ideas?

Mind sometimes does this when it reaches the pop up wind deflector, perhaps this is your problem? Something is providing enough resistance to activate the pinch protections(PP). You can override this by pressing and holding the window lock button while you hold the button to close the sunroof. It deactivates the auto close function so you will have to hold the buttons until the sunroof is completely closed. Its annoying, but works. You could also try some lube/grease on the tracks.

Ill have to try the window lock method and see if it works for me. I am not sure if it might be the wind deflector but it sounds like its possible because thats roughly where it stops and retracts, ill have to have a friend close it for me so i can check it out from outside of the car. Thanks for the suggestion

Mine did this a few times also when the weather changed here to really hot from coldish. I just let it go back, reach up and hold down the deflector just enough for the glass to clear and then let it go. be careful not to pinch your fingers. BTW the deflector i am speaking of is the big black plastic deal that feels springy. (just a note as I am not sure that is exactly what that is)
After doing that two open and close sequences in a row, it has never done it again. Good luck |
