Default Mysterious lighting activity

We have a 92 9000 which has recently started mysteriously activating the headlights and/or parking lights while shut off, no key inside, alarm not activated. It happens only sporadically, but in order to disable it we need to remove the relays for headlights and general lighting, or it will deplete the battery if left long enough unattended. Might we be able to (a) test or (b) cheaply (read: less than dealer soaking) the relays, if in fact it would be a relay issue? Might it be tied in with the alarm system, even though it is not being activated at the time? Haunted cars = disturbing.
