Default Steering audio control porblem

The volume control on the steering wheel does not work now and I have no idea what is wrong with it. The volume knob on the dash works fine. Has anyone experienced the same problem?

Sometimes the steering wheel volume button doesn't seem responsive at all when I press to turn the volume up, but then it finally kicks in after pushing it a couple more times.

I've never had it go completely inop on me though.

Mine stopped working last year, it broke so I replaced it. It's a switch, they break.

Is that pretty easy to do yourself?

If your fairly handy, you can get a used one from www.goldwingsaab.com

There may be a JunkYard in your area that has one, check around

Thanks for the info. Look like I might have to get a pre-owned replacement from somewhere else other than a SAAB dealer!

Try The Saabsite also, they can get used stuff, but even a new one will be cheaper than at a dealer.

Hi,

Just how difficult are the controls to replace? I have seen a photo of the controls and as it looks "modular", it can't be more than prising the faulty one off the steering wheel. Can it?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Wow!

Thanks. I have to think about it first before committing myself to the task!
I may end up paying someone else to do it for me.
