New 1990 SPG owner in need of assistance

Hi all
My son and I recently purchased a 1990 SPG for his first car. It is a little rough
around the edges but a great runner. I need to get a new clutch for it and was
wondering if anyone from the Vermont area might be able to assist me with this task. I have never done a clutch before looking for some guidance and or some help. I have searched the forum and found alot of great info on clutch replacment but still a little worried i might screw it up any help would be appreciated

You have like the car with the easiest clutch to change in the world. There is a good writeup on this site, you guys should have it over and done with in a day, assuming zero experience

Where abouts in vermont are you? I am about 10 minutes from fairhaven vt on the NY, VT border.

I am located in underhill not to far from fairhaven

so i should buy the whole clutch kit? flywheel also or not?

I can't say whether you need a flywheel or not because i havn't seen it. It is always good to get it turned down though. It wouldn't do any harm to get a new flywheel but if you don't have to spend the money then don't. If the flywheel is rough and warped an all that take it to an auto shop and see if it can be turned down. If it can't then you need a new flywheel.

thanks for the info im going to order the kit and wait on flywheel, will check it out when I work-up the nerve to tackle this job.

if you need a hand message me im not to far away from you. My schedule is pretty free so anytime really. Im not an expert on clutch replacements but i have done it before so i know a bit about it. Its really not that hard to do once you get into it.
