Hey all,
I discovered this site a couple of days ago, and it has re-instilled my pride in owning a Saab. What a great forum you have going. As part of my new found passion I would like to make some adjustments to my car. Starting off with the rims. I have a 1994 NG900 with just the stock 15" rims (i presume). I am looking at a set on ebay which I prefer the look of, they are saab branded and 16". In the description the seller says they would be appropriate for the NG900 but im a nervous spender haha. He says that this is written on the rims 'SAAB / 47 78 304 / EB 051 / BBS / 61/20x16H2 / IS 49'. What do you guys think? would they work ok? Cheers, Dave. |

Yeah they are small. But they're in good condition and i can get them for like $200 delivered. At the moment I can handle having them smaller if it means im not going to have to spend $1500.
I was just maily concerned with them fitting properly and all the rest. Thanks. |

Of course, you'd have to get new tires. Try to keep the same overall diameter so that you don't screw up the speedometer/odometer calibration.

I assume by trying to keep the same diameter you mean that if i were to increase rim size, i would need to decrease tyre 'height' for lack of a better word. Sorry im not really in the know when it comes to cars so im trying to pick up as much knowledge as i can.
Thanks for your help. |

You are correct, yes. It is called Plus Sizing and a quick google search (or whatever search engine you prefer) will yield you plenty of calculators that will tell you the proper new size for your wheels

the sizing and offset looks alright to me. i'm guessing they're viking wheels, but you'd be in for a treat if they were super aeros. use this to calculate what your new tire size should be based off what you have now. otherwise, just get 205/55R16 tires since that's the size i have, and it's been excellent.

check out the classifieds here. I remember a few sets of wheels (including viggen wheels) up for sale in there.

Indeed, but he is in Australia. Shipping may be harsh unless another Aussie happens to be selling on our boards right now
