also, what is the largest/safest size to have on the saab, that does not require modifcation or wheel spacers?

Those are Viking 16 X 6.5 inch wheels. That car came stock with a 205/55/16 I believe; with a factory alternate size of 215/50/16.

Saabs can easily fit 17s without any modifications using a 215/45/17 tire (dependent on backspacing of course).

Several here have fit 18s and even 19s without spacers or modifications; it all depends on the backspacing and the tire size.
