Default rear brakes

Hi all,
I just bought a set of rear brakes for my '98 9-5. In the box there's a little tube containing what seems to be some kind of grease. What is this used for?
Thanks

Is it copper slip? If it is, you apply it to the REAR of the pads to stop them squeaking.

Simon.

I changed the rear brake on the weekend and found it to be easy and straight forward. When you take out the old brakes, there is a thin metal plate that goes behind the back of the brake pad. You put the grease that come with the new brakes on the back of this metal plate where the brake piston come into contact with it.

I was looking through an aftermarket car parts magazine yesturday and it had a section on brakes and showed a picture of an AP racing and Brembo front brake caliper. I had to look at the picture of the brembo caliper twice because after changing the rear brakes on my 9-5 last weekend they looked exactly the same , only difference was the Brembo was bigger cause it was a front caliper. Am I right to assume that Brembo and Saab have a relationship :-??

Brembo does offer aftermarket parts for the 9-5.

The Saturn L-series pads/rotors are compatible, also.

Wow... Now THIS is interesting...

It would seem likely to be possible to find more readily available brakes in the u.s. for a saturn than for a saab.

Do you by any chance know what year and body style of a saturn L series would have the same rotors and pads as my 2001 aero?
