Default Help. Saab longevity?

I've never owned a Saab and don't know much about them. What is the overall reliability of Saab? in general? Here's a link to the car in question.

Thanks! Michael

From the pics, the car looks really good. The first thing you are going to want to do is drop the oil pan if you get it. This can prevent a whole host of future problems. 113k is nothing on a SAAB engine, if it was taken care of by the PO. Check to see if they did the required maintenance on the car, ask to see service records, and contact the PO if possible. On the convertibles, I would run the top up and down about 10 times, just to make sure that it is operating properly, as this is a major expense if there is something wrong with it. Prior to purchase, you might take it to and indie saab mechanic if there is one in your area, and have him give it a once over. This may cost you up to $100, but you will thank yourself for it later. Good luck with the car, I hope it checks out for you!
