Starter making a loud griniding noise

This is beyond my knowledge but, i know its has to do with the starter.
i wanted to make sure it was in place so i tried to start it up, it made the normal noise but no start
so i took it back off and put it back on just to make sure i did everything right in return it makes a like grinding noise as if its barley engaging with the flywheel im confused the noise is like a super loud grinding anyone have a idea what it is? and how do i fix this clutch jobs
the starter is tightend up so whats going on
