Hi guys,
Last Friday I was out for a quick run to get some gas and charcoal. Well luckily for me the traffic in front of me decided to stop, but the guy behind me didn't. The Saab did a great job, and I'm perfectly fine. Needless to say I need a new rear bumper. Is there anything special that might need to be repaired as well? Thanks ![]() ![]() ![]()

It's very likely that the crashabsorber block beneath the bumperhousing needs replacing. Perhabs some attachments are damaged.
You need to remove the pumper to find out the real damage. |

First Glad your OK and the Damage "Looks" superficial" but I'm going to venture over 1K in costs. BUT, Why isn't the guys Insurance taking care of it? Please don't tell me he's personally paying the Damages. Bad Practice, something comes up down the road and your the one that pays.

His insurance better be paying for it! I was just wondering if there any Saab specific things to look out for when they make an estimate. I doubt we are going to get it fixed at a Saab dealer.

I dont know how WI works but if you are handy, you could get an estimate for the bumper and stuff, then buy it used from a car with front end damage at a junkyard. Might pocket $1000. K |

Ask your Dealer what shop they recommend, they'll know what to look for....These are just cars not Space Shuttle's, pretty much any reputable shop can and will do whats right.

I also noticed one of your parking assist sensors popped loose.

Also, I have a brake light failure message, but the brake lights work. Does that message also include the other lights back there like the reverse lights? |

The computer monitors the lights. I don't know if it measures current or resistance but due to the crash the bulb could be damadged or a connector is seated wrong.
Get it checked in the workshop. Does the parksensor give a fault code in the SID ? How hard was the impact ? |
