Hey anyone using after market rims on there 9000? I have a ? about wether or not I need to buy the adapters for the car to accept other than stock rims. I looked at some Enkei and was told I would need to purchase an adapter due to Saab's having lug bolts and not lug nuts. :-?? Does anyone know what the hell the tire dealer was talkin about???

Depends on the wheel, look for a manufacture that makes wheels for Saab (or at least try to) Adapters would only make things worse… the adapters would be bolted to your hubs and then your new wheels to the adapters…
One thing is the adapters if made from alum will cause problems in the long run by getting frozen to the hub which will make them a pain to remove should you need to…. Another thing is you would have to plan on a correct offset for the new wheel to compensate for adapter thickness or your wheels may end up sticking out of the wheelwell |

When you say adapters, do you mean to space the wheels away from the hub (offset), to put around the hub centre to fill the 'gap' between the hub centre and wheel centre (spigot/spacer rings), or to convert to a different stud pattern (eg: 4 to 5 stud)?
As for the lug nuts/bolts, I am not to sure what you mean but the 9000 has BOLTS with a standard 60' chamfer. You could probably use the exsiting ones if you wanted. GT |

Yeah mine has Bolts also ...I meant the adapter which bolts into the holes for your stock Bolts then you can use lug nuts on the threaded ends.

I don't see the point in what I think you are saying. Why can't the new wheels just be bolted on the same as the originals?! :-?

I think NOT using adapters is a much better idea....

I have no idea why??? if some one could explain why I need the adapter..or why I cant just simply bolt on the new rims?

and "no" you don't need them if you get the right wheels.. If you decide on a wheel that doesn't fit your car then "yes" you will.... Buy a rim that is 4X108 and you'll not need them. |

So will that size fit the standard 205x55x16's that I currently run on the stock rims?

Yes
4X108 is the number of holes (4) and the hole spacing (108) I have seen rims listed in 15", 16" and 17" with that bolt patern.... |

Check out Ronel as far as wheels go... they are still making a bunch of rims that will bolt right up to your car.
There are also many wheel companies out there who are listing the correct bolt patern but you would have to contact them about back spacing. |
