Default key not accepted

so i was taking the car apart to find the leak in the heater core and i tried starting it a few mins ago and the display says key no accepted and plus that little alarm light never worked before but it all of a sudden works now any one have trouble like this? oh and i dont have a remote for the alarm either

I believe that there is a small antenna or coil in the bezel that surrounds the ignition lock that communicates with the ID chip in the key. If you unplugged it when you took it apart and forgot to plug it back in, it won't recognize the key.

Double check that the antenna is connected properly. If it is, you'll need to get a remote programmed from the dealer since there is no way to start the car without one if the immobilizer doesn't recognize the key.

so should i have the car towed to the dealership so i can get a remote programmed?

Try using some switch/electric cleaner. Spray some on the connections, might help.

That is indeed what it will come to if you can't get the antenna working. The normal procedure if the antenna or RFID chips stops working is to push the unlock button on the remote and then turn the key.
