... there ain't none!!
Moved the SAAB a few weeks ago parked up (literally on a slope with next to no fuel in the tank) attempted to start it yesterday and nowt. It coughed a bit and that was it. Managed to flatten battery trying to start it. Charged battery put in 10 litres of fuel and... still nowt it coughs once at the off set but bugger all after that. Took plugs out check spark, OK but plugs seem dry ie no fuel.So me in techy mode reckons there is either krapp in the line thru dragging the dregs when there was no fuel in tank or a pump ain't working. So the question how does one check the fuel system out on an injected system? I haven't a manual so I don't know the layout of the fuel system can anyone point me in the direction of a schematic for a 1993 900S fuel layout. Can't bump the beast as its an automatic. |

get another battery, or two long leads from yours, and remove pump cover and check direct, at least you will know if your pumps working or not, as if you kept trying with no fuel you could have burnt it out, or the relay is not working, but if no noise pump k/o. crap in the tank is bollo, the crap is going round ,mixed up etc in the tank all the time and gets pulled into the filter, hence a filter in line, so unless filter is bunged up anyway no prob there

Thanks for that. As I said I haven't a manual so is the pump easily accesible?

undo the two torx head screws on boot floor, and remove the floor out of the car, you will then see two covers left is pump right is fuel gauge sender, remove cover disc and get someone to (try) start the car, once the ignition is activated the pump should start running(noise) if not, remove electrical connector, try battery leads for split second direct,(polarity won't hurt for that short time. just to see if it makes a noise(no need for ignition to be on etc) and then as previously mentioned thread, above re possible fault/s
