One year on from a front suspension overhaul I'm getting that grunchy grinding/knocking from my RHS suspension on slow right hand hard turns that tells me the thrust bearing has gone...again...
Does anyone else get through thrust bearings at this rate? This will be my third in 4 years I have Bilstein shocks and 205/45/17 tyres (standard bushes & springs), so I guess it gets hammered more than your stock item, but taking the suspension off once a year is doing my nut. And now for the stupid question....you know what its like - you take everything to pieces and the phone rings and you can't remember which way up things were ten minutes ago - so here goes...just to make sure...is this photo of the thrust bearing the right way up (i.e. flat side down?) http://www.saabcentral.com/forums/at...id=11620&stc=1 |

I think 90% percent of us go at least 90K miles on these thrust bearings......Something else is wrong,
Overtightening.....know the specs and why Misassembly......if the phone rings, do not answer! Bad parts, somewhere, and at times, not evident..
