Default 9-5 radio removal ?? know how?

i want to remove the radio to get behind it.

as far as i know you put a stiff wire in the 4 holes around the edge of the face. but it's not seeming to want to come out.

is there something i'm missing?

thanks
Ethan

When you put the wires in you need to push them out slightly,it should pop the pins and you'll have the radio out in no time...

Buy a pair of Wal-Mart DIN radio removal tools, less than $5. Bare wires are almost guaranteed not to work.

What department does Walmart hide the removal tools?

Pieces of wire or coat hanger just ain't gonna cut it. You need a set of radio tools with the slot in the end, its these slots that engage the back of the radio and allow you pull it out.

Coat hanger worked just fine for me. The SID and HVAC unit were out however so you could pull the unit. Had it apart for the carbon fibre dash and now blown bulbs so you get good at it.

Coat hanger worked for me also, although it took a little convincing. I think I removed the climate control panel first to make it easier.

You both had other panels out to get your hand behind the radio and pull, if you want to leave everything in situ you need the 5 buck keys.

Drill bits of the right size also do the job well
