Changing radiator on 1992 non-turbo; the rubber bushes and spacers used to 'house' the bolts that fasten the rad to the front body work are no longer available from my usual sources. Obviously the fixing holes on the new radiator is far too big without the rubber bush that houses the spacer. I no longer have the old radiator that would have had the bushes intact
Any ideas? Should I just improvise with any old rubber bush? Maybe the rubber grommets on the engine block? They need to stop any vibration on the bolts I presume. E |

well clearly I inspired you all with this post
To update: Good advice - do NOT recycle your old rad before removing the bushes at the top... you need them as they are definitely no longer available The rubber grommets used on the engine block worked well with some hollow metal dowling inserted as a 'guide sleeve'. The rad is now in situ and looks the bees knees. I am well happy. E |
