Saab Club of Canada Winery Tour

We’ll be meeting at Birchwood Estate Wines in Vineland at 10am.

FROM TORONTO
• Exit Ontario St. (EXIT #64) in Beamsville
• Turn South (Right) on Ontario Street
• Turn left at the lights on to the South Service Road
• Follow for approximately 5kms
• The entrance to the parking lot is right off of the Service Road



From there we’ll travel to Royal DeMaria (Canada’s Icewine Specialist’s)

Here we’ll be learning more about some of the finest Icewine’s in the world!




Next stop is Cornerstone Estate Winery

Alyson and I ran the route and made final preparations today, hopefully the weather next Sunday will be just as nice!

On a rainy Sunday morning we brightened our day by meeting on the back patio of Birchwood Estates which opened early for us so we could start wine tasting at 10:30am! 17 cars and approximately 40 people enjoyed a beautiful view and some good wine. Great way to start!



On to some Icewine! Royal DeMaria has won numerous awards in this area and is the home of the worlds most expensive Icewine. This Icewine is VERY good. Kyle Moote said to me that this one stop alone was worth the trip! We tried many and bought a little!

Next we literally took over Cornerstone Estate Winery. Thanks to Jerry Kopanski our host for providing us with tables and chairs AND GLASSES for our picnic lunch. This was a good chance to relax a little and sample some great wine with our food.




Onto Wayne Gretzky Estates for a look at some memorabilia and much more. Here we surrounded the tasting bar from one end to the other. Many located and purchased a local cook book to go with their wine.



And our last stop the beautiful Tawse Winery. Here we were greeted by a terrific host and tour guide that explained all of the unique features of there Eco-friendly wine making facility. This was a very interesting stop and a great way to end our Tour.
