Default 9-3 Purge Valve

Does anyone know where the valve is located in relation to the engine on a 2003 9-3 Linear?

ahhh, another lexingtonian! Are you talking about the EVAP canister purge valve? If so it is located right in the front of the engine. A 5 min swap

I wanted to know because I have a code P0455 and have replaced the gas cap and it comes right back within a day or two. Not sure I want to replace it but would at least like to know what I would be getting myself into if I had to. Also wanted to know where it is located so that I may check it and the hoses myself for leaks or whatever.

well all you have to do is remove the black cover on the engine bay, and it is sitting right there in front of the motor. Just remove the hoses and electrical and swap it out.

looks something like this:

This thread is referring to a purge valve which is part of the evaporative emissions subsystem.

You are thinking of a compressor bypass valve.
