Default ABS module P1925 and other stuff

I think my module went out. I read the faq's and with the code I don't think there's a doubt. Check engine light, no speedometer, no TCS etc.

My questions are, where can I find a remanufacturer in the US?

Also, for a 2000 9-5 Aero 5 speed with TCS, would this fit?

How do you all feel about used parts?

Default 1999 models can't display the P1925 code

At least conventional wisdom says they can't. The 1999 models communicate differently between the ECU and ABS, the WIS doesn't even identify this code for 1999 cars.

Regardless, I know of three re-manufacturers of these Bosch ABS units here in the States:
  1. bba_reman - located near Boston
  2. ATE - Auto Truck Electronics located in Florida
  3. Module Master - located in Idaho

Thanks for the info. I'm going to have to pop it out on Saturday. I assume that the module is only an electronic part and I can run without it?

I think if you use second hand ABS module you need TECHII to match them up again. Is this ture?

That is one reason behind repairing your own module so that the ECU will still recognize it. Of course the main reason is the exhorbitant new replacement cost which is a pump and module assembly.

Without the module you will not have ABS and TCS but you still have the normal power brakes. Please be careful as I just got back my module being repaired by Module Master and I do drive slowly without the ABS module especially on wet patch of road as the wheels can lock up without the ABS on.

I would not recommend driving without the ABS control module in place. Yes, you can drive without it. Without the module you will not have ABS and you may not have a working speedometer. The danger is that the braking system is partially open to atmosphere and contaminants with the module removed.

You can wrap the ABS pump and valve assembly with plastic and duct tape to keep dirt out, (you should do this even if the car stays parked while awaiting return of the controller), but plastic bags and such may melt with engine compartment heat, or tear loose with expressway speeds.

Driving one or two miles daily should not be a problem. Driving 50 miles or more daily may result in a big problem.

This repair will save you $2,500 compared to the cost of a new pump/valve body/controller installation! Why be stubborn and risk a more serious ABS problem by refusing to ride share, or refusing to rent an Econo Box car for less than a week?

I have to drive mine without the module for 20 days. But you can see what it did to the HDPE sheet but the proper sealing still maintain the pump assembly pistons shining. Note wrap also the bottom and main connector to protect it against the external elements.

The repaired ABS module from Master Module.

Just finished fixing back the module a few minutes ago and no more lights and no more DTC codes.
