Radio will not turn ON

Hi, I have 9-3 2nd generation (2003) A strange thing with it is when I turn off the radio sometimes it will not turn back on for a while. it will eventualy come back on later eventually. meanwhile, my car phone kit seems to work fine through the saabs speakers (although the phone kit is probably directly connected to speakers by passing the radio anyway) the CD ejct and load seems to work ok which obviously eliminates any blown fuse issues. just anyone else have had this prob before

I have had the same problem since I installed a bluetooth kit. If the radio is off when I start the car I cant get it to turn on. Th only remedy I have found is to place a call. It just has to be long enough to get the phone to kick in ove rthe speakers, usually one ring.

could be your amp is going. I had to replace mine. The one that is under the drivers seat. There are 2, one in the trunk as well.

Expensive part so you want to be sure that's the part you are having a problem with.

Mine eventually just wouldn't turn back on at all.

This has happened twice to me. I have a brand new amp1 (which was blown) so I can rule out that possibility; although amp2 could be causing an issue.

I found that if I ejected the cd, which was one that I had burned, the stereo would turn on.

ejecting the cd! i think i will try that next time it refuses to turn back on, has any 1 ever changed to after market stereo i.e. changing the face plate to standard din type etc.

Please report back with your results. This has happened twice to me - the first time it fixed itself eventually and the second time I ejected the cd and the stereo came on instantly.

what hands free do you have? by chance the motorola?

handsfree, I use a nokia bluetooth cark kit (not saab's motorola) which I had to get a plug and play cable for saab its works fine with or without radio being on

So this has just happened to me again, I ejected the CD and the radio still wouldn't turn on; I guess that is not the solution.

I cycled the power on the car several times right down to taking the key out of the ignition, radio still won't come on... no turn signal sounds, nothing.

Any ideas?
