Hi everyone,
I just picked up an '04 9-3 Linear. I have a couple of questions that I cannot seem to find the answers to so easily in the forums: What is the deal with Tech 2? Is it just a program that runs the lights? And how would I know how to draw the map to give to the saab dealer to switch it? How much should a full key cost from the dealer (including both parts)? What are some good websites for random parts (like the fader button on my radio)? Does the dealer need to do something in order to get an Aux-in to work? Thanks Rich |

Also:
Is it possible to put ACC and heated seats in a car that currently has MCC? Whats a good price for Saab floor mats ( should I just get normal Autozone floor mats)? Thanks again! |

I also thought I read that you can turn the Onstar into a speaker phone - is that true or did I misunderstand that?
Thanks |

Tech 2 is the tool Saab dealers use to programm and diagnose electronic components within the car.
Aux-in: you need to activate it with Tech 2. MCC -> ACC: It's very difficult and very expensive. You need a lot of parts. Parts: partsforsaabs (UK), genuine saab, saabparts, saabsite; google for these some of them have online prices. |

call your dealer ahead of time about the lights. GM won't let them disable your daytime running lights/make your headlight switch work. you'll probably have to find an independent shop with Tech2.
also, read the FAQ |

Try doing a search under DRL for the instructions on adjusting headlights - be prepared for some headaches. Some dealers have every excuse in the book for not doing it. There is no law against disabling them. There has been talk about the latest Tech2 software not allowing this procedure so it is anyone's guess really.
Keys could be expensive. When you are under warranty they replace them like their cheap candy and then when your out of warranty they charge you like 200 bucks. If you are rather bright and patient then you can do some amazing things with the electronics of your Saab. Chances are someone on this site has done it before. You want to do some research on your car to see what features came on it as different years and models come equiped differently and don't always have the same electronics as their European counterparts. |

I ordered the rubber floor mats from the dealer, there were around $70..you can go to saabusa.com and look under owners.. then accessories.
You should find them there.. also if you pass by the dealership you can pick up an accessories catalog with the prices.. don't let them charge you any more than what is in the catalog. |

Quote:
www.eeuroparts.com is good for mechanical stuff, but they don't have much inside stuff. partsforsaabs.com and stateofnine.com are helpful for some things. |

Does anyone know of reputable dealers or independent shops in the New York City, Westchester, Nothern NJ, or Southern CT area?
