Hello.
I just bought 2000 9-3 SE, and I was wondering if someone could ask few questions I have in my mind about modifing the car. So here goes: 1) Which is better to go for BPV or BOV and which brand? 2) Should I get intake or just replace K&N air filter? Thank you for your help. |

You probably have Trionic7 on your car witch means you can't run an atmospheric dumpvalve (BOV) so go for a BPV..But if your after the sound try to get a hold of the Mitsubishi EVO6 BPV it needs some minor mods to fit but it makes a nice WRC-type sound =)
And regarding the airfilter..Again, if you like to have a louder intake sound go for an openair kit but if you just want to have the extra horsepower or two it's not a big difference, especially on a otherwise standard car..But if you are going to mdify it more maybe the openair kit is better ! |

I also just bought a 2000 9-3SE and debated the air filter thing (to death i might add)...and finally decided on the open air cone filter kit from GenuineSaab.
http://www.genuinesaab.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=XF.970 I should receive it tomorrow, and will post my impressions when I install it. |

why is that I cannot dump the air into the atmosphere? What would it do? Also I noticed that the headlight is on at all the time. Is there anyway to turn that off, and be allowed to turn on the headlight using the switch?

I have a NG 900 and to turn the daytime running lights off I took out the # 15 fuse out of the box. Look on your fuse box diagram and find the fuse that controls day running lights. That should do it. Then you control your lights by the switch. |

If you really want the pssst you can have it and allow your MAF sensed car to still work. What you need is a"plumbback hybrid" BOV. I know there are two manufacturers here in oz- try www.turbosmart.com.au or www.gfb.com.au ( GFB is go fast bits), both are excellent
Im sure you can get them in the states jonathan |
