my driver side power mirror has a mind of its own?

05 9-3 aero w/33k on it. only had it a few weeks and I've figured out most of the mysteries with this thing but one that I cant seem to figure out is really pissing me off to no end.

I'll randomly look over to my driver side mirror and it will be pointing down (sorta how like you can do with the passenger mirror in backup mode) but I dont hit the backup button over by the mirror switches and I dont have any preferences set (had to reset the car by unhooking the battery a little while ago).

anyway, does this mirror get affected by the "backup assistance" thingy??

I've put the car in reverse and watched the mirror but it's like that whole redlight/greenlight childs game haha. it wont do it when I'm looking grr...

any ideas??

not sure about Saabs... but another car I was drving did that. I'd set the mirror, and everytime i started the car, it would go to the down position.
set the mirror, and set a pref... drive for a bit and see if it still does it
