Whilst at our local dealers a while ago the chief technician was telling us that when the Saab turbos first came out it was a fun tweek to put a v.short length of Bic biro pen (with pilot holes drilled into it) into one of the APC pipes to act as an instant bleed valve. You adjusted it by simply covering/ uncovering more of the holes until it didnt overboost. Sounded crazy but i am sure we all have old pens under the sofa cushions!

Tried it on my 89 9000 carlsson and the difference is staggering - it made 199bhp at the wheels on the rollers. Now I am quite sure that someone is going to list 10 good reasons why this system isnt a good idea - but the technicians at the rolling road said its basically a crude bleed/ dawes device and if the car is set up with fuelling checks etc then it isnt a harmful mod to do. All for 20p if you cant find an old pen lying around!!

Old skool tuning tip for you to ponder!!

Maybe worth running past the technical gurus on this forum...........
