Default Junkyard POI help.
I was wondering if people think it would be helpful to have a Junkyard POI for your GPS. I know I love walking around junkyard. I have a TomTom, and I can make a POI file. I will also put it in a Excel format for other people to convert to POI files. Mods, can you increase my SC mailbox size? If not can I post my personal email address? Thanks! Greg

sounds interesting. do you know if poi files are compatible between different gps brands? i have a navigon.

There is a write up regarding all the formats. If I can consolidate it to Excel, I can make TomTom, and others can make other formats.

How would one go about changing formats?

I would think you would take an Excel or Word file and cut and paste in a POI generator. I am pretty sure someone has a program for TomTom.http://www.poiedit.com/compatibility.htm

cool idea, even better maybe just plot them into google earth even ad a picture and everyone can access it? Just a thought

I figure this way, as you are driving, the GPS will alert you to a junkyard you are near!

We have gotten MA, NH, and someone has started posting junkyards from IL! If you can put in the comments, whether it is a pick your own lot, it would make it easier! Thanks
