How many miles do you have, because if it's over 50k, get both the air pump and the check valve. As long as you have an etorx set of sockets and a normal set of tools, you can do it yourself with a little elbow grease.

Before you do the whole ball of wax, check for moisture....you may just have to replace the valve. You can blow the condensation out of the pump if there is any, as long as the pump is working there is no need to replace it. A new check valve will prevent further intrusion.
