Some people shouldn't be allowed out of the house, never mind the ability to own and drive a car.

It's all fun and games until someone removes all the skin from their palms closing the boot/trunk.

I found the comments on the forum very entertaining. You'd have thought he'd spraypainted a moustache on the Mona Lisa. It's just a car for goodness sake.

You gotta love the VAG owners, they really seem to be ahead of the curve when it comes to car styling

Ah yes. The perfect paint job for those who cannot decide between the orange peel and primer look.

No more waxing and rock chips. I bet it will hold up great when hitting larger objects or deer running into your car or fall on the hood. I like.

To be honest, I've been waiting for this to happen for a long time. I think paint on cars is a stupid idea, considering how much abuse they take, and how much it costs to repair. It would be far more practical for cars to be surfaced like this one... maybe not with stucco finish, but a smooth hard layer. Heck, I bet this stuff can be colored as well!

I wouldn't have gone near the wheels though... but I guess it's good comedy value

I really want to do this to my car, but in smooth matte black. I think that would be awesome

I don't mind it too much, although I would prefer it if the wheels were not rhino'd or white (just normal metal please), and if some of the trim were black to provide some contrast.

Although I would put this look up there (down there?) with really riced out cars............I 100% applaud his originality. I think the motive behind the idea is respectable, the only problem is the idea is really really dumb.

Dumb in what sense? Just because it's out of the norm? If defying the norm was dumb, we'd still think the earth was flat

I think putting fragile paint on a car exposed to the elements is dumb. You might as well strap a ming vase to the hood! Durable coatings like this could make dings, scrapes, RUST, etc. a thing of the past.

Next step is for someone to cover their car in CARC paint.

The "DIY" version of Rhino Lining; called Herculiner; actually has a smooth finish version of the same stuff. I had a friend in the Jeep Offroad scene who Herculined his Jeep in bright orange. It was amazing, had a semi-gloss finish that was nearly impervious to everything.

The few times it did get scratches offroad all he had to do was hit it with some roll-on touch up herculiner... It is an amazing idea really. No idea why everyone is so set on paint over stuff like this. I wouldn't go with grey like that myself; but Rhinolining comes in about 25 different colors so you should be able to pick what you like

It is not smooth by any sense. it has a very rough texture to promote "grip".

Hey....grip....who wants to rhino their tires?

Probably increased the total surface area by a factor of 10 as well. Possibly creating "Upforce"?
