Good thing the SAAB badge didn't continue to this (although in reality we know it sort of did .....):



The Mitsu, Yamaha, Cadillac, Alfa, Audi, Buick are all interesting evolutions.

As for Playboy ....... they could have added:

The world of marketing is a crazy place, i did a year of marketing for school and decided it just wasnt for me and engines were. In that year i have learned that the market changes way too much for me to even want to think about it. Every aspect changes from day to day, week to week, its just rediculous. The companies that dont change their logos so much are (according to a professor of mine) trying to prove that change is no good. But im pretty sure change can def be a good thing especially in the automotive industry. Again change can be bad and thank god their are no GM badges on our cars or i think i would not have bought one, i want to go through with a permanet marker and darken everything that says GM on my car!

I did four years of Marketing - got a Bachelor's in it. Brand marketing is tied right into logo evolution, as most companies will change their logo at some point. A logo speaks volumes; most people can recognize a brand by simply the logo without the company name (the Saab griffen, the Chevy bowtie, the Motorola symbol) - and most logo iterations keep some form of the old logo in tact.
