I've been a lurker for a little while, so I decided to join. I just bought myself a used Saab '99 9-3 5spd. It's got 90k on it and.... I've done nothing to it-though I can't wait to. I know little about these cars, and find them wonderfully quirky. They kinda fit my personality. I know a bit about cars in general, but I am quite eager to learn more about Saabs specifically.
In the mean time, I've got to familiarize myself with the search function-need to get caught up with all things Saab. Oh, if anyone has stats regarding the lateral G's (skidpad) a stock '99 9-3 can take I'd be much obliged. -C.M |

Welcome, and I hope you enjoy your 9-3.
Lots can be done to it to make it better than stock, but I'd start with basic maintenance so you have a good starting point. Your manual has a list of things to check/renew at 90k. A good way to farmiliarize yourself with the car is to go through it, even if the PO said this service has already been done... Dealers dont even always go through everything in this list so probably worth checking it out Also, if you have a manual transmission, 90-100k isnt a bad time to do a flush/refill.. Quote:
Enjoy the new car! DIY is king! |
