Most people use the web to complain, but I wanted to say that I was very happy with my recent warranty work at my local Saab Dealership (Gartner Saab, Aurora, IL).
My wife dropped our CPO 2004 9-5 Aero off with a list of items to be addressed and all of them were taken care of at no cost! I know the CPO covers a lot, but was surprised with a few items. The main reason for the visit was a check engine light. It turns out that it was mis-firing in two cylinders. They replaced all 4 plugs and the DI cassette. Very happy with this. I am hoping my MPG goes up a bit too. My wife averages 19 MPG around town and maybe 22 combined. We'll see if this changes at all. She's not a lead foot, but knows how to put it down when she wants to go! Not sure if anyone cares, but the list also took care of: 1. Bad windshield washer jet 2. Fixed a wheel well inside cover where a screw fell out and the plastic was a bit loose. 3. Never put it on the list or knew it was bad, but they found a bad CD cable in the trunk and replaced it. 4. Addressed an update with software where the trans ocassionally clunked into gear. Very rare, but annoying and scary for repair reasons. They also screwed up a charge for a previous service rental loaner car and paid us back. Not only were we paid back like we should have been, they did an oil change to make up for it. Then they did what every dealership does and tried to sell more services via the "while we were in there we noticed..." 1. Recommended flush trans and refill 2. Repalce rear pads 3. Repalce serpentine belt. All in all, we are very satisfied. Although, I still am not pro-dealership, but have a bit more pleasent feelings towards them. |

Just goes to show there are exceptions to every rule.
In the case of stealerships though, don't let a few good apples fool you |

All is usually peachy when still under warranty......that $100 they want to change a light bulb (not including the cost of the bulb) might change your feelings!
Mind you, getting repairs done correctly is usually worth the money. |
