Return of the Ford Capri

When I was shopping for my first car, my dream was to get a Ford Capri. At the time, a used one was still way too expensive so I never got one. I always liked the design with the long hood and available 2.8L V-6.

The new design looks nice as well, except for the lower front which is a bit too busy. I really hope Saab will surprise us with a 3-door coupe some day...

Ohhh, a 2.8 Capri. A guy down the pub has one, which he doesn't use anymore, and if I was single it would now be mine. New one looks nice, although it's a shame it's not RWD.

Not a capri!

I got no problem with them making a new one, but at least make it somewhere close in pattern to the original! A proper capri is a rear wheel drive sporting coupe, this is just another hot hatch, way wide of the mark in my opinion and not that good looking either.

Personally I think its too early for a comeback, if you like the capri and what it stands for its still a simple task to pick up the original, even a mint condition brooklands can be had for less than £10k

Whatever ever happened to the capri supposedly being a mini euro mustang?

Come on! its the large hatchback that still sloped like a sports car that made cars like the Sirocco, Rover SD1, Ford capri, Saab 900 etc great in the first place!

I agree wholeheartedly, I can't think of one car since maybe the 2002 SAAB 9-3 that has this look. I'm not a fan of the "shortened stationwagon."

It's a fashion thing. Like all fashions they'll come round again. Just accept we're old school Baron and modern cars just aren't our thing

Seriously. I don't see one line on the Impreza that's the same. Same for the C30 with the possible exception of the similiarly tapered crease along the window line to the rear end. And you could say that idea was stolen from the old Fiat Bravo.

It has very Focus ST front wheel arches and the S-Max ST cooling vents but if you think that's the same front wing then...well I really don't know what to say and it's hardly shocking that it's taken some styling cues from other Ford models.
