OK! if your clutch is shuddering and grabbing in 1st and reverse- and you have just been living with it: DON'T!
i replaced my cable with a manual adjust: made sure to lube it up well - i used honda 60% molly grease which is just what i happened to have as i use it for my motorcycle drive shaft- other peoeel seem to have had luck with 90 (synth?)weight oil- but either way, dont live with it! its like a whole new car for about 70 dollars and an hour an a half work- it would not have taken that long but i really didn't know what i was doing- now i could probably do it in about 30 minutes. anyway- the car is so much nicer to drive now - i had to make sure everyone fixes it if they have this problem. |

Mine does this! I have to up the RPM's big time to make t not shudder. I'll have to look into this a little more becuase I've never really heard of the cable. Did you use a tutorial anywhere? If so I would like to see it =]
Thanks, Tom |

Courtesy of PMI. So the cable should be pre-lubed ?? Not a bad idea - just work some synthetic MTF into the cable - this may help..

I looked at my brand new cable and there is already a film of grease on the cable. I didn't add anymore lube and it is already smooth like butter.

i did about 30 miles today and i must admit: just the slightest shudder still exists. but its 90% cured- which is still a godsend above where it was. maybe some more adjusting and it will cure it 100% - but even if not, its still miles better.
