stupid wire question

I went in to check my starter and pull it out, do not be fooled it is easy to unhook but good lord is it hard to shimmy out.

While under the car i saw a stray wires. coated with black casing, and it was white.

What is the wire too, it is under the car and hanging....it is on the alternator side below the wheel. the alternator is my next project. I noticed after i took the wheel off, that the alternator wheel had a peice of liner gone. The liner that covers the wheel base area. It looks like it is 1 foot area, and only reveals the alternator wheel. anyhow another topic...

any ideas to what the wire could be, is it a ground strap? and if so where does it belong........

Does the wire have a connector at the end? If you want me to guess, oil pressure sender.

yes it does, a square connector after a closer look. It attached to a clip 2 inches from the oil filter. I found the wire and its end. i wonder what will this effect?

do you remember how you hook it up,. I have the clip with severed ends. and the wires i had were black and white.

does anyone have any idea to which side the black and white wires go once it is clipped. The lines got severed and i have to sauder.

not that i spelled it right i am sure.

but the clip for the oil sending clips on, and i have to repair wiring.

I am not familiar with 9k's prior to model year 94. Another possibility is the oil level sender as there is one on the sump prior to 1994.
