Got the dreaded "Low Coolant" warning this morning so took the car in to the Dealer. They just called to inform me that I have yet another cracked and leaking overflow reservoir that will be replaced today, making this the third time in the first 15 months. Why can't Saab find a little black plastic tank in the GM parts bin that doesn't leak?
I told my wife when I bought this car that I plan on keeping it for 100K miles. At this rate, I'll be on my 17th reservoir John |

I was under the impression they had this issue resolved. When I had mine fixed the dealer said that there was a new tank that just came in that does not continue to leak. Hope it gets better for you... Not that it is hot there now but I wonder if the NV climate has anything to do with it being it is a lot drier.

I recently had the tank replaced for the second time by a large dealer in Orange County. I was told by the service rep that the replacement is currently being tested by GM and is not yet available.

John,
I had mine in for a second time recently for low coolant level. The advisor told me that they have kit that basically "replumbs" the overflow tank.

It happened at about 15k for me - they replaced and 15k more no problems yet - does seem a bit silly on something so simple yet important. I bet on a nice summer day with the wind in your hair you'll forget all about the coolant tank - unless it goes on you right then.
