So I bought the saab touch up paint for my merlot red beauty
Lots of rockchips on the front of the car and a nick on the back. How can I touch this up so it will look matched as best as possible, I have the touch up pen and the clear coat pen that comes with the kit please step by step in STUPID terms so I can follow =) And I've decided to powdercoat my calipers and brake drums (it was those that were rusting no the rotors - i didnt know the difference), is this a good idea? I'm doing it black, any suggestions on colors? |

Just touch the spot with the pen, wait for it to dry and repeat with the clear.
As far a PC your calipers, just buy a high heat black spray paint and paint them. PC them is going to be more hassle than it's worth. And you don't have drums. |

There is an article here that details how to do paint chip repair. It is very extreme and involved, but if you want to do it right, this is the way to do it. Scroll down to the "Paint Chip & Scratch Repair" section (about 1/3 of the way down the page)

Quote from the site: "You must repeat this process several times, so don't try to fill the chip in one pass. Applying several thin layers will produce much better results."
I am guessing you would want to fill the chip with color on the first or second fill, then move to the clear coat for the remaining passes.
