Default Where do you put your cup on an NG900??

I know the 9-3 has an option to have a cup holder above the radio, but the only place for the NG900 is by the centre console, but it really only fits a McDonald type cup. Where do you guys put your coffee mug, etc.???

center console here too. i only ever need it once a week for the day i leave home early to get coffee and breakfast. with my car being a convertible, it technically shouldn't have cup holders.

Center console if i MUST, i try not to eat or drink in the car....i'm weird about that. I am a car washer at BMW and after seeing what food and such does to the car i'm grossed out. but for me my elbow always hits the cup in the console and that sucks....

your elbow hits the cup? funny, mine isn't able to get anywhere near it. i do have a rule against eating or drinking in my car though. only i am allowed to drink my coffee. yea driving across the street from the coffee shop to my school prevents me from having the opportunity to take a sip and risk spilling.

for you cleaning out people's stains, what do you use on the carpets? the bmw dealer who sold me my car managed to clean my carpeting with something that gave it a pink hue.

Yea not like while my right hand is on the wheel or anything but just when its being lazy off to the side i'll hit the straw or something...depends on the cup...i'm only about 5'5" though and 17.

As for carpet cleaner idk i'm not in the detail department...I just drive the car through the wash (sometimes hand wash), wash the wheels with this awesome rim cleaner (green, no idea what though) and vacuum out the inside. I've used spot shot carpet cleaner before though in my own car.

As for the cupholders again...I have yet to drive a car where the cup holder has been great....my old car had nice deep ones like the 9-3's that pull out but would then block the radio. my moms taurus, its either ash tray (12 volt), armrest, or cupholder, but never a combo haha. if i have to drink goes between my legs.

A few weeks ago I brought a fountain drink to my car, then realized for the first time that I have no cupholders (I took the center console one out for more cubby space).

So I drank it on the spot and threw it away. But today I found out we have a whopping TWO more cupholders in our cars! They're in.... *drumroll*

....the glovebox.

I think they only work if the car is not moving....

those things are far too shallow to use. there's also the lid of the center console, but that's shallow and is basically in the back seat.

I splurged for a door mounted Cupholder and use that every morning in my drive. It works awesome; and keeps the cup right at hand where it needs to be.

I would never use the one under the radio; way too easy for your drink to slosh into either the radio or the SID and toast something.

I rarely use a cup holder but I switch between the fold out one and the center console holder. The fold out one makes it tough to see the SID and prevents placing a CD in the changer--this is especially tricky since the only time I use the cup hold is on a long trip...and the only time I usually use the CD changer is on a long trip....

I normally use the clip-on holder on the door or,coin/cup holder in the centre console,if you're feeling cruel make your passenger hold two cups and then drive around a corner too quick and watch them panic...

I have them for my vert, too. Works wonderfully, but if the user is not very aware, they can be destroyed in a flash, by a foot in a bit of hurry. They're also not great for anything fatter than, say, a 500ml PET bottle of water.

I use the dash holder for my insulated cups. A bit bouncy with a heavy container, but works well if you're not an avid SID viewer. I wonder what would happen if one pressed the CD eject button with a commuter-mug in the dash holder ...snap-crackle-pop?

There's also a holder in the center console, but it's quite useless. I have to dislocate my shoulder to get my elbow between the Viggen bolsters and the hand around the container. IIRC, it causes the cup of liquid to sit at an angle, and should there be a nearly full can of soda and stop-and-go motion... Well, you do the math

I totally agree...unless of course i'm thirstay haha, but if the car is gonna have a cupholder make it a good one! Especially with how importang cup holders are to other people! you would think more cars would have better cup holders! The newer 7 series has good ones that are deep and relitively easy to get to and do not block anything. i believe heated and cooled as well.

yea, but that's a 7 series! with what half of us do to our cars, they're probably more along the lines of old porsches: if it's not necessary, it's not there! i wish i didn't use my cup holder so i could take it out and make use of the cubby.
