Default dic replacement

Before I replace the DI cassette on my 1999 93se hot, what should I check for the possible cause of the DI failure? I'm affraid if I plug in another, it'll fail.

How long did it last? They all inevitably die.

Mine's got 95K on it, but I have a spare in the trunk just in case.

Look for burnt spark plugs. An all to common problem is those screws getting loose and allowing gas into the chamber. You should tighten the screws at least once a year (I do it every oil change).

Thanx, It made it for 117k before the dic died, I guess it had a decent life. I'll check the torque on both the plugs and the screws on the cassette are tight before I fire her up. Anyone have a cheap used dic I can use as a spare?
