Does the 1980 black 3-door Turbo about a 1/3 down the page sound like a good deal? http://saabnet.com/tsn/class/900-93.html I thought so, but it's been up there awhile (it was relisted), and I'd think if it was such a hot deal it would be gone by now. Do any of the problems sound serious? I don't know a whole lot about c900s. Thanks a lot!

It could be good, I'd just be worried about rust.

Could be a good project car. Do you want a project car?

I'd definately be up for a project car that at least works to some extent, but I'd have to convinve my dad that it wouldn't be more work than I can handle. I get my liscnece in a few months and it would be nice to have something to drive then, but I think I'd enjoy working on something as long as I could actually drive it when needed. Does the car sound manageable?

The rust would turn me off, but where I live rust-free cars are easy to find. The "just needs a tune up" bit concerns me too; I'd rather know exactly why it's running badly (warm up regulator? fuel pump on the way out?). If all it needs is plugs and timing, then why doesn't he do it?
The old "B" engines can be problematic too, especially if the water pump needs attention. I'm a big fan of 8v turbos, but would prefer an 83-84. |

I had talked to the owner a while back, and he made it sound like it was driveable even if he didn't think it should be driven much without some work. I got the price down a bit, and I might be able to negotiate a little more since the car's been up for sale so long. I just wish it was closer so I could look at it more conveiniently. Assuming the rust doesn't seem too bad in person and the "tune-up" it needs doesn't look like much more than the mentioned plugs, wires, timing, etc., and assuming I could get it down to maybe $800, does it sound worthwhile? Thanks again.
