Spring Dyno day&mini meet - Thurrock Essex 5thApril

I've booked 'track&road' again for us on Sat 5th April.

Venue:

Track and Road in Thurrock.
Unit 9 Noak Ind Est, New Rd Wennington
Rainham Essex
RM13 9EB

The dyno will plot wheel hp, bhp, torque, afr & boost. Each plotted every 50(fifty)rpm. Afterwards, the operators will carefully talk you through your results.

Its best to check websites like multimap etc before entrusting satnav as alot of people where sent to the wrong part of New rd.

Start at a leisurely 10:30-11:00am

The format will be the same as previous events held there, everybody who wants a run on the dyno will have an alotted time slot ie 1pm-2pm, 2pm-3pm etc Cost will be £35 each (cash) payable to myself as each car is placed on the rollers. Deposits are not required, but could you confirm your place via pm.


There is space/time for approx 15 cars for the dyno and shed loads of parking for spectators etc.
For those who have less understanding other halves, Lakeside shopping center is only 10mins away so could be helpful.

Hopefully, like last time the 'burger van' will be nearby, but i'll be laying on tea&coffee anyway (free of course)


This is primarily a saab event, put non saabs are most welcome, although the dyno is only for 2wd. This is probably going to be the last dyno day/mini meet that i'll be organising so lets make it the best attented yet

On previous events held here a few people had trouble finding the place. Sat nav isn't reliable and tends to direct you to the opposite end of new road several miles away. So, below is a link from multimap showing where track&road is (a red circle) in relation to jct30 M25.

Ok guys in a few weeks i'll need to phone the dyno place to confirm numbers etc.
Thank you to all that have confirmed their place so far, but for people who already have their names on the 'rollers' list provisionally, could you confirm your place as soon as possible. This will give me a greater number of definate attendees to work with. Although if your name is on the list, but not confirmed, your place will still be held for you.

I'm shortly going to re-sort the list into some sort of running order, the same format that was used before ie 11am-12pm, 12pm-1pm etc. Each car took approx 20-30mins for each run, this included setting the car up on the rollers, carrying out the dyno run and full analysis afterwards.

On that basis running 3 cars per hour is maybe too many, on the otherhand running 2 cars per hour is not quite enough.

So, i'm going to list the running order for 2 cars per hour so people will know roughly when they'll be on etc although i'm sure nobody will mind if we find we are running ahead of schedule I had thought of putting people who have travelled furthest on first and go from there, unless anybody specifically wants an early or late slot. If so just pm me.

Set your satnav up to these settings
Country - UK
Region - England
Postcode - RM13 9, Havering, London
Town - Thurrock, London, England
Road - Sandy Lane, Thurrock, Havering

Co-ordinates are 51' 30 12.1 N, 0' 13' 37.6'' E

Following these instructions should place you about 50meters past the dyno place (which will be on the left) so slow right down as you come off the roundabout and stay in the left lane If you manage to go from 2 lanes into 1 lane each way...you've gone too far. There is a pub a mile or so down the road, you should be able to turn round there.

Only a couple of days to go now....can't wait

Anyway we are good to go and the operators are looking forward to seeing our saabs to the biz.
I can now confirm that there will be a burger type van in attendance from about 2 'o clock onwards. I've been reliably informed their food is of good quality so I for one will be trying it out. The operators will be laying on various types of soft drinks - coke, sprite etc but I have their permission to lay-on tea&coffee for all of us. Hopefully that should cater for everyones tastes.

The weather is not looking so great for the day at the moment, but on the flip side cold ambient temps are good for booooost
