Ashtray swap for the shelf

For those who have done this, is it a snap to swap out the ashtray for the shelf? I'm getting a TomTom and wish to plug it into the lighter socket and the shelf would make things easier and look better.

Can you change the shelf to the ashtray on an 07'? It would be a more convenient place to store loose change than the teeny tiny slots in the center console. If it will fit does anyone have a part number?
