my MPG on sid dropping more every day?
Ever since I installed my new upgrades (Bov, cold air intake, MBC+A, new battery), my MPG on sid keeps dropping. I started out around 20 MPG and now i'm at 14.5. I can watch the thing drop slowly while i'm idling. Most of my driving is city driving but this seems very low.. Any ideas?

1) a car that is at idle gets 0 MPG
2) you do know that is an average and not real-time data right? clear it and try again....

Want to dream for a few? Get to teh top of a hill; reset your SID and cruise down the hill at a comfortable 60 MPH. Watch in wonder as your Saab suddenly gets over 100 miles per gallon
 The SID gives you an average MPG based on all miles driven since you pressed clear and held it down the last time. As Troll pointed out; if you are sitting still you cannot get any miles per gallon...

Also, how heavy is your foot?
I can keep it at 30MPG on the drive from Rochester to Niagara Falls if i drive steady. Also i have noticed our cars get better economy when off the highway??? at least mine does...

Yup ideling kills the mpg average and so does city driving because everytime you stop you get 0mpg. If I reset mine on the way to the highway, I get a real 27-30mpg, city driving is more like 19-22mpg and the average for my car in real numbers is 23mpg and thats is getting on it a good bit with 400bhp.
If I cruise on the highway, I can get a real 30mpg if I take it easy... John

By being as easy as possible with the throttle and a larger turbo is more efficient on the highway and usually gets around 4mpg better milage. So when you are cuising, a larger turbo is more fuel efficient!

You're all kidding, right?
My SID shows 30+ almost all the time. If I REALLY beat on it, I'll get it down to 24MPG... but that's almost putting effort into it.

Id say fill it up and then see how far you get till you fill up again, bam! then you know your real MPG's.

No wait, that is what I said...
I only go by the "real mpg" calculated gallons used, miles gone. The sid is really not all that accurate...John

Thats all good advice, the only problem is that my fuel guage does not work either! I try to fill it up every few days but I worried I'll forget and run out of gas one of these days..

That is why filling it up and triping you're odometer is the way to one get you're real mpg and two, know when you are out of gas! I get close to 420 miles on my 17.4 gallon tank or close to 23mph average for the tank. If you fill it up at say 300 miles, you will be safe and depending on how much it takes to fill it up, you will then know two things, one how many miles per gallon you got and two, how far you can go before you would run out or have to fill up again! I usually fill up at 350 miles driven to be safe and I usally find it I had about 3 gallons left in the tank, so I could have made it another 75 miles or so....

When I bought my 900 a few months ago I was getting about 24 on the SID. I filled the tank up and calculated it myself. It turned out the SID was really close. Its about an 18 gallon tank but when my gas light comes on and I fill it up I barely squeeze in just under 15 gallons. So my calculations were on 15. I then realized my PCV and hoses were broke. I replaced those components and was getting roughly 28 for a while but now they have dropped down to an average of about 22 or 23.

As said before...O2 sensor, Plugs and how old it your Cat? It could be plugged up.
