Default European Spec Oil

I want to use a european spec synthetic oil but can't find a 10W30. Are there any other weights that are good to use? ie. 5W30, 10W40, 5W40(most common)

What do you mean by "European Spec Oil"? Even store brand conventional non synthetic oil is of a much higher spec then the oil these cars were shipped with, Oil is a personal preference, Many use Mobil 1 for synthetic, I prefer Castrol, and AMSOIL is the cats meow, many of us here use amsoil in our transmissions.....and 10w-30 is fine, but I run 10w-40....easy to find and (over simplified, but) is the same "thickness" and protects slightly better....Use a good brand name oil, change on a regular basis before 3000 miles, and don't skimp on your filters, Fram is overrated, and store brand filters aren't worth the $2 you save every 3 Months....Some GREAT Filters: Mann, Saab OEM, MOBIL, WIX, K&N (more expensive Mobil Filter), Napa GOLD,.... The Napa Gold and Wix filters are the same and the easiest to find and probably the most affordable, and probably just as good as a Mobil/K&N filter, but HALF the price, the Mann Filters are a close second

Follow the above and your car will last 300,000 miles of hard driving
