Default SID Swapping

Hey, just got my first saab about a month ago, yay love it haha, i have a 96 900 SE and was wondering if its possible to put a SID 2 in place of my normal SID because it has completely stopped displaying pixels and would like to just buy a different one. Wondering if this is possible or what it takes to make it possible?

i've searched around but couldn't really find a definitive answer but i think it should work?

thanks
