Saab 96 kicking some tail at Lime Rock Park - Pics

These are just a few of my pictures from the 2007 Lime Rock Park vintage festival. Incredible event, as it is year after year. This yellow 96 was the back up car for Len Schrader. The program shows his orange 99. That car was hangin out in the paddock outside his trailer, don't know why he swapped cars. No complaints, this little thing was awesome to watch. I love the idea of this thing passing a Ferrari 250 GT, 1958, on the outside of Turn 3. It was great! If I remember correctly, he held on to second place for pretty much the entire race.

What on earth did he do to that car? Is this a classics, no major upgrades kind of race, or is his little V4 churning out close to 300 hp?

Can't say what was done to the car. It sounded beastly though, I know that.

I doubt the thing even had 150hp, but it's small and light, wide racing tires, tight suspension. Rockets through the twisties. Makes sense.
