My husband picked up one of the SAAB front plates at the dealer for my car today(very similar to the TURBO one discussed in another thread).
It came with washers and screw caps but no screws...Silly question but does anyone have any idea what size screws fit the holes in the cars body? Hubby doesn't want to strip and scratch the paintn trying a bunch of different sizes... |

Hehe. I had the same exact problem, when I first got my plate. But if you look at the front of the car, there should be a plate frame, sometimes with a plate in it, there already. Just go into the trunk, pull up the bottom to the little tool shed and you will find a screw driver, you want to put the piece on that looks like a monkey wrench. Take the driver and unscrew the plate. :! NOTE: Put the spacers behind the plate, then make sure you put the washers the right way and the plate. It should go, spacers, plate, washers, caps. If you don't put hte washers the right way, the caps will not snap. Here is a pic of mine and good luck!

Maybe the dealer has some extra screws? It sounds silly that they would forget the 1 actual thing you need to mount it, unless you just wanted to set it attractively in the front windsheild
Mine has butkis in front, just some holes. So if the plate ships that way, I'm gonna need screws too. I thought about swiping 2 screws from the rear plate, but it rattles something horrible when you close the trunk. |

I believe they are metric size M5 X 10 long. Be sure to get stainless steel ones.

Whoohoo! Thank the Swedish Car Gods for hearing my plea! I got my TURBO plate from some good friends of mine!
But no screws (but I expected that). So I ordered them from my dealer & installed it. Here's some info should you need the same... Part#: 9215-0384 Price: $0.74 each The front screws are DEFINETLY different from the rears. The one on the left is the front, right side is the rear. Here are measurements, near as I can tell for the front screw: Threaded portion: 13mm long, 4.7mm in diameter. The rear screw is 8mm long, 5.83mm in diameter. And the screw & it's brother in action: |

3M double side stickie tape, extra strong. I used 3 pieces at 1 inch x 1 inch and put one at each end, and one in the middle of my Swedish plate with matching letters to my Colorado Plate on back.
It is on and has stayed on for months. Normal sticky tape was not weather resistant. It stayed on the car, but it let go of the Aluminum plate. |
