Default boston saabs...

just wondering how many here frequent route 1, 93, 95 and also drive in the milton, ma area....

for example there is someone with a steel grey 9-3 (with black handles) that i see almost everyday on route one (near gillette stadium) and i drive right behind him or near him...err like a saab convoy...(i hope thats not too strange) but he never seems to wave or acknowledge the fellow saab... (i used to also drive a steel grey so it was like two identical cars driving side by side....) - p.s if you read this, im now in a silver 9-3

then in milton i see many 9-3s but no one seems to care....the only time i saw another 9-3 that waved/acknowledged the fellow saab was when i was at a red light at the intersection of randolph and chickatawbut some time ago (he was in a nocturne blue one) and he gave me a nice big smile and i waved

hmm just wondering how popular saab central is around my area....

I have done the same thing for years, and normally get wierd looks back at me. Saabs are fairly popular in my area, but you only seem to get an friendly acknowledgement when they have done something to the car. I still remember back in '96 seeing a guy with rims waving, getting a wave back and following him, well out of my way, until we got to a light and I could ask him about his rims. So glad I found SC to get my enthusiasm out, after years of odd looks back at me.

I think the issue is that there are just soooooo many of them around here.

In another thread, someone asked the question "How many Saabs do you see on the way to work?" and it's an odd day when I don't see a dozen or more on just one leg of the commute...

If you're driving by Gillette then you're driving right near my house. I avoid route 1, though, so the chances of finding me in my ridiculous red 'vert are pretty slim.

I waved to someone in a Saab Convertible today, it was an NG900... nothing. As mentioned before, they're just too common place around here and non-enthusiasts own most of them.

Yeah, I guess it's niave to think all Saab owner's know about Saab Central, 'cause in Boston I see alot, a whole lot of Saab's on a daily basis. I was actally going toe to toe with someone in a newer Saab, early Saturday morning 9/8 on Beacon street going towards BC, I didn't want to run him 'cause I can't afford any tickets right now.....or ever for that matter. But if I side by side with another Saab and catch the drivers attention I'll give a nod.
